The Township Clerk administers all federal, state and local election for the Charter Township of Oxford. The Clerk's office also maintains the voter registration files of the Township. To be eligible to vote in elections you must be a registered voter. As of 2013, voters applying for an absentee ballot at the Clerk's office will be required to show ID or sign an Affidavit of Identity as part of the Public Act 523 of 2012. Also, effective 2013, any residents registering to vote in person will be required to show photo ID or sign an Affidavit of Identity.

PROPOSAL 3 CHANGES:
The passage of Proposal 3 in November 2018 afforded the following changes to the voting process:
1. The last day to register to vote in any manner other than in-person with the local clerk is 15-days prior to the election .
2. The time-line for in-person registration with the local clerk's office with proof of residency is 14-days prior to the election through 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
3. The last day a voter may obtain an absent voter ballot via First Class Mail is 5:00 p.m. the Friday prior to the election.
4. The time-frame to obtain an emergency absent voter ballot begins at 5:00 p.m. the Friday prior to Election Day through 4:00 p.m. on Election Day.
